We now meet fourtnightly, usually on a Saturday at 3pm in Forest Cafe, 141 Lauriston Place.

To find out when the next planning meeting is, when socials, reading groups, action groups and any other events are taking place, please visit our ‘Central Pad’. On the pad are sections for all active working groups where they can share information with the others and let people know what’s going on. So if you’re in a working group or want to start one, feel free to start writing that down, create your section and let the others know what you’re doing etc… The section at the bottom is reserved for the agenda of our planning meeting.

The pad has been started to create a space for the different working groups of the society to coordinate and also make it easier for non-members to see what’s going on and where they might join if they share an interest in a topic. The advantage of this system is that it’s free to use as in both free beer and it isn’t run by big companies i.e. no need for a fbook/google account.

If you’d like to be added to the mailing list and receive society communication say so in an email (to equalitylibertyrespect(at) and we can add you to it.

would it be inappropriate to shotgun the position of treasurer?

i’m assuming, in the absence of a democracy that is, that shotgunning what you want is effectively like writing laws…

Haha, well, I don’t see why you can’t be, nobody else wants to, I mean it means you have to set up the society bank account, collect and coordinate our funds etc. There’s no power involved, not like actually riding shotgun… It’s more of an annoyance I would have though.

We will discuss this in more detail I am sure, but the account is probably going to be with the co-operative bank, for obvious reasons.

do you still hold meetings at the Forest? if so, you haven’t specified which day of the week they’re on?! Unless you’re really enthusiastic and meet every day? ;)

  4. Charlie says:

    Thanks, that’s been corrected!
